INTRODUCTION TO THE PROVISIONAL SUMMARY
Public Film and Audiovisual Policies and Funding at a Crossroads II aims to deepen the discussion on the future purpose of public film and audiovisual policy and practice. We are concentrating on the areas that require answers. Report II is connected to Public Film Funding at a Crossroads but should not be seen as a follow-up, with that said, we recommend reading the first report. This is a relatively long provisional summary. It aims to provide an overall picture of the issues and topics that the full report will cover.
The second report is built on: in-depth interviews with key persons in Europe’s film- and audiovisual sector; focus group meetings in Eastern Europe, Germany, France, Scandinavia and UK; a number of close-up articles reflecting specific countries; reflections from our territory experts across Europe; and a survey for public film agencies. The study is made in collaboration with Cine Regio, the European regional film funds’ association.
The new report will first be launched and presented in Venice during Venice Production Bridge, and then in several events across Europe during the autumn.
